Nick Moen was born and raised in the Twin Cities. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 2001-2006 and was deployed three times during active duty, including the invasion of Iraq in 2003. After separating from the Marines, he began installing Duro-Last on commercial roofs.
In 2008, Nick moved down to the Gulf Coast to help his uncle start a solar business and got certified to install solar at the Florida Solar Energy Center through the University of Central Florida. Nick then moved back to Minneapolis and earned his bachelor’s degree from Hamline University in St. Paul. He then completed the law enforcement program and EMT training to become a licensed peace officer in Minnesota. Nick decided to choose a different path and stuck with roofing and construction. Nick is a business owner and licensed General Contractor in Minnesota and Wisconsin, as well as a GAF Certified Contractor and Duro-Last Master Contractor.
Over 45 years ago, Darrell Schaapveld, Founder of Four Seasons Energy Efficient Roofing, Inc., began installing commercial and residential roofs. With his lifelong passion of honoring the environment, he has incorporated his ecological values into the business. Darrell can advise the types of roof technologies that are best in large variable weather environments, like Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin and Iowa endure. He has been involved in environmentally aware roofing construction well before the days of ENERGY STAR or Federal Tax incentives now available for energy-efficient roofing systems.
